Independent Living Centre (ILC)

The ILC has a permanent display of equipment set in a “house” arrangement. All items of equipment are designed to empower people and increase independence. ILC Occupational Therapists can advise and assess for useful aids in the kitchen, lounge, bathroom, bedroom as well as indoor and outdoor mobility. ILC Moving and Handling advisors can also advise and assess for specialist people handling situations.

It is necessary to arrange an appointment with the ILC for an assessment. If you are seeking information only, ILC Information Officer will be happy to see you without an appointment.

While based in Shrewsbury, the ILC has satellite centres throughout the county, making it even easier for people to visit us. Our satellite centres are currently in Whitchurch,  Ellesmere, Oswestry, Bridgnorth and Telford.
