Equipment Awareness - Mobility

Course Aims

  • To enable learners to use a structured assessment process to identify appropriate equipment to support clients with mobility difficulties
  • To raise awareness of a range of mobility equipment
  • To enable learners to identify risk factors in use of equipment


Learner Outcomes

  • Consider a range of mobility equipment (walking sticks, frames, wheeled walkers etc)
  • Explore the assessment process, including suitability of equipment for the individual, suitability for the task, environmental factors and technical specifications
  • Consider how to identify and manage Risk Factors in use of equipment and reflect on the possible impacts of interventions
