Course Aims
- Introduce and develop person-centred assessment skills
- Enable learners to identify where low-level equipment may help to support service users, and/ or where it may be appropriate to signpost to other services
- Raise awareness of a basic range of low-level equipment
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the workshop learners will be able to;
- Understand the need for, and benefits of, person-centred assessment
- Use a structured assessment process
- Demonstrate an understanding of safety issues
- Identify where equipment solutions may help to support service users
- Understand when it may be appropriate to make a referral or signpost to other services
Practical demonstrations of low-level equipment to support daily activities including:
- Using the toilet
- Bathing / showering
- Getting in and out of bed
- Kitchen

The course can be delivered at an appropriate venue of your choice (facilitator travel and accommodation expenses may apply), or at ILP's Training Suite in Shrewsbury which has onsite parking and cafe facilities at a date to suite you.
